Help us, help drinks people
The LTC has been helping those who work in the licensed trade since 1793.
All of our support is completely free and for this we rely on your generous donations, our wonderful volunteers and the incredible network of experts and ambassadors we have been working with for many years.

Leave a legacy
Legacies are an essential means of securing our future. Large or small, these generous gifts are gratefully received and are carefully used every year to provide continued support to the licensed trade.
Why should you write a Will?
It allows you to control how your estate is distributed without delays, confusion and costly legal disputes.
Bequests to charities are tax free and can be deducted before the final bill is calculated meaning Inland Revenue may get a smaller proportion of your estate so more money can go to your beneficiaries.
Please visit www.hmrc.gov.uk for more information.
Remembering us in your Will
If you’d like to remember the Licensed Trade Charity in your Will there are three main options:
- A specific sum (Pecuniary legacy)
- A share of your estate (Residuary legacy)
- A specific item
Once you decide what kind of gift you want to leave we suggest you ask your solicitor to use one of the following texts in your will:
Pecuniary legacy:
I give to the Licensed Trade Charity, Heatherley, London Road, Ascot SL5 8DR (Registered Charity No. 230011) the sum of [amount in figures and words] pounds for its charitable purposes. I further direct that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer of the Licensed Trade Charity for the time being shall be a complete and sufficient discharge to my Executors or Trustees.
Residuary legacy:
I give to the Licensed Trade Charity, Heatherley, London Road, Ascot SL5 8DR (Registered Charity No. 230011) [state the share fraction or percentage in words] of the residue of my Estate for its charitable purposes. I further direct that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer of the Licensed Trade Charity for the time being shall be a complete and sufficient discharge to my Executors or Trustees.
A specific item:
